Top tier banks unite in support for fifth annual EBAday

Registration has opened for EBAday, the pre-eminent annual event for the European payments industry, with headline sponsorship from four leading global banks - JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank HSBC and ING - plus host sponsor Dexia and local support from Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat.

Now in its fifth year, the two-day conference and exhibition - organised by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra - will take place on 26-27 May at the Luxembourg Congrès.

The conference programme at EBAday 2010 comprises keynotes, panel discussions and break-out sessions comprising more than 50 of Europe's leading figures in payments who will discuss new challenges in the transaction business in Europe.

The agenda will reflect on the changing landscape for payments in the euro area six months on from the introduction of the Payments Services Directive and the Sepa Direct Debit scheme in November 2009.

Firmly bucking the downward trend in the depressed international conference circuit, EBAday 2009 welcomed more than 600 visitors from all corners of the European Union when it opened its doors for business at the imperial Hofpburg Palace in Vienna last year.

The EBA and Finextra are expecting an even bigger turnout this year, with top banks taking the lead in support of the event and exhibition floor space selling fast. Non-bank sponsors lined up for EBADay 2010 include IBM, Logica, Visa and Diamis.

To register for the event and get the latest updates on the speaker programme and agenda, go to www.ebaday.com.
